It's not much, but I am happy to be up to date! After the family tree, these are the next 2 pages in the baby's scrapbook: Ultrasound pics. Now that I have the scrapbook stuff cleared off the table, I am pumping myself up to finish his quilt! 9 more weeks!

My Professional Interior Design Work: Accountant Office
Welcome to the professional side of me. At the beginning of the year I had the wonderful opportunity to do the Interior Design work of a new local office building. My father was the architect so it was great to work together and learn so much. The best part was attending the open house and seeing the product of my hard work!
This is the entrance, the front office of the Accounting Firm. Everything you see, I picked out. The floor tiles, the desk top and granite, the carpet, the wall paint, the toe kick/foot boards, the wood finish for the desk, etc. The glass front meeting room with the sweet flat screen and company's logo etched in the glass was my dad's idea. I thought it looked awesome!

PROJECTS Week of June 13th: Strawberry bounty
PROJECT 1: Starting in on the baby boy scrapbook. I do a scrapbook for each of my kids' first year or so. Each one begins with a family tree. This time around, I couldnt find a page I liked, so I decided to make my own. First, I went online and searched for "family tree images". Second, looking at this image, I drew the trunk freehand onto brown cardstock and cut it out. Then I typed and printed family names on green cardstock and freehandedly(?) cut them into "leaves." Then I glued it all on the page and.....
I LOVE how this turned out. I'm SO glad I decided to be creative AND it cost me nothing! (Picture removed due to personal information).
PROJECT 2: Strawberry freezer jam. This may not seem too exciting, but I am so proud of myself! I grew up on this jam. The first time I had store bought stuff I couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. I FINALLY made some myself and couldnt believe how easy it was!
PROJECT 3: My first Strawberry pie. I have made tons of pies in my time already, but I don't think I've ever made a strawberry. At least not an entire (crust, glaze, fresh cut berries) one from scratch. Isn't it picture perfect? And it tasted so too!

I LOVE DECORATING TO MATCH THE SEASON: Summer
We needed to lighten up a little and change out Spring for Summer. It is finally started to really feel (HOT) like Summer. I must say I have not minded the milder weather one bit! This is a HUGE apothecary jar I got last month at a garage sale for $3! I decided to Summer-ize it. Rocks from the dollar store (I already had), balls from the dollar store (I already had), Pottery Barn candle I got on clearance from PB for $2.99 (I already had). But it needed something. I looked everywhere for a starfish, but didnt want to pay $10 for one. And I realized that since the opening to the jar is only about 3 inches, I needed a small one. Guess where I found one? The dollar store of course! In the craft section. I was so excited. $1 was all I needed and instantly my living room feels Summery! Bonus: I saw the same starfish by the same brand at Michael's for $5! So total cost to buy this display at my prices would be $9. (The jar still has the tag from Home Goods on it for $30~)
Our family picture wall I am very proud of. I didn't like the way the frames were so I took them all down and re-organized, measuring and marking every single one on the wall. I LOVE the way it turned out! I learned even though it takes more time, it's definitely worth getting out the tape measure and doing it right. (Picture has been removed).

Product Update: Frizz-Ease
If you saw the product review I did a couple of days ago here and want to try it out, I have some news for you! This week, Rite Aid has a $1 rebate off their cost of $4.99. Plus, there is a $2 off manufacturer's coupon in most Sunday papers which makes the final cost $1.99! It might be for the smaller size ( I will find out when I go get it) but it's still a great deal. You have to have a Rite Aid card but you can get one at the checkout, you just fill out your name and address. Happy Bargain Shopping!
