The Friday Four Roundup #8 {2014 Fall Fashion Edition} And some deals.

Welcome to the 2014 Fall Fashion Edition of my roundup, I hope you had a great week. Are you ready for fall? I am still in the getting ready stage. I wanted to decorate for fall this week now that Labor day is over. However, it is still beautiful sunny weather so I am soaking up every last bit of summer that I can. We have long winters here so I have learned to truly appreciate warm days. In the meantime, I can dream about my perfect fall wardrobe...

1. BASIC SWEATER. I'm loving the idea of a classic, soft, slightly oversized "slouchy" type white cable knit sweater. This one from H&M is pretty much perfect and I like the longer length in the back. Plus H&M is currently offering free shipping on a purchase of $50 or more through the 7th with code 2541.

2. JEANS. Any sweater would look fabulous paired with a great pair of skinnies. I prefer the dark wash on a pair like this, also from H&M. They have buy one pair get one 50% off right now.

3. ACCESSORIES. The obvious choice would be a scarf in warm autumn tones or perhaps a plaid. I don't like to wear something that keeps my neck warm when I'm already wearing a sweater with a high neck line though, so I think it would be fun to try something a little more unexpected like this necklace from Downeast Basics.

And of course you need a great bag. This one with a fun print is anything but boring and I love the brown for fall.

4. BOOTS. Leather knee high or ankle are both great options. I've had my eye on this pair for quite some time. Right now Target has 20% off all their boots.

Meet my new bag. {gray chevron love}

Thank you to my sister in law Karen for helping me make this super fantastic bag. I got some new gray boots that I will be rockin' this fall and winter and I thought a gray chevron bag would be the perfect compliment.
I found the fabric from Hobby Lobby for $8.99 a yard, then you can use their 40% off coupon on top of that.
We used the tutorial for the popular Tohuko Tote from the original source here http://www.iammommahearmeroar.net/2011/09/tohoku-tote.html?m=1
There are so many options for switching up this pattern with a little imagination, the possibilities are endless! Karen and I have this thing about the inside of our bag looking cute too. She added the chevron to my pocket inside and I love it. But then again, I love everything about this bag!

New Floppy Sun Hat {one dollar!}

After I fried my scalp from being in the sun all Memorial weekend, I realized I needed a hat to wear in the sun. I wanted something cute and trendy but didnt want to spend alot.
I saw one at H&M for $15, one at Target too, but knew I could get it cheaper.
Today when I walked into The Dollar Tree I just happened to spy this. At first I thought it was kid size or would look goofy but I tried it on and whaddya know?

DIY earrings

Do you remember the set of earrings I got for super cheap here: http://www.rebeccasroundup.blogspot.com/2011/12/after-christmas-sales-how-to-make-your.html
Well in that set there was a pair of empty studs (the gems had fallen out). The other day I was wearing a brown top that had sort of antique bronze colored buttons. I didnt want to wear gold of silver because they clashed and I decided I needed some brown colored earrings.
I took the empty studs, found just a tiny scrap of brown satin cord and with my hot glue gun went to work making little "rosettes". It worked great! And of course, didn't cost me a thing :)
Whatd'ya think? Have you ever made earrings before?

Trends for 2012

According to my own online research, this is what I found for the hottest upcoming trends this year!
Spring Fashion: birds, pastels, baroque flourishes, drop waist, deep sea, digital imaging, matte satin, and abstract art.
Home: the color "tangerine tango," building green, warm wood furniture, textured upholstery, decorative wall murals, reclaimed wood, woven & knotted rugs, and second-hand decorating.
Beauty: luxury natural products, keratin treatments for sleek hair, magnetic nail polish for marbelized effect, and customized skin care for lifestyle instead of age or skin-type.
And my own predictions for Handmade/crafts: elaborate cupcakes, and even more handmade scarves, cowls, and jewelry.
Looking forward to 2012 and a Happy New Year to you!

I LOVE: this little black dress

Wanna see my new party dress?
With the help of my awesome sister in law, we located this awesome perfect dress for a mere $7.50. That's right seven dollars and fifty cents. Um, yes. Please
So excited to wear it!

For this look, I paired DownEast Basics’ Little Black Dress with a Gold Chain Fireball Necklace from Charlotte Russe, a Hobo International Double Frame Patent Clutch from Nordstrom, and some Michael Antonio Keme Pumps from Piperlime.

For this look, I paired DownEast Basics’ Little Black Dress with a Coverlet Cuff from Anthroplogie, Gentle Souls Bay Leaf flats from Piperlime, and a simple Ficcare ‘Glittery’ Double Arch Headband from Nordstrom (which I think would look amazing with an up-do).

And Last but not least… holiday party look number three! For this look, I paired DownEast Basics’ Little Black Dress with aTriple Mesh Bangle Set from Charlotte Russe, SPANX “Birdseye” patterned High End Tights from Bloomingdale’s, and some absolutely beautiful Valentino Side-Bow Patent Leather Pumps form Saks Fifth Avenue (yes, I realize no one can afford $695 pumps, but they are gorgeous nonetheless).
